Georgia Tech Conference Services is a member of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors International (ACCED-I), Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) and Unique Venues. Our dedicated staff of six full-time conference professionals is committed to assisting every conference client in all areas of event and conference planning. Our goal is to provide each planner and attendee with the feeling that their conference, camp, or event is the most important and only program on campus. Our conference office acts as a one-stop-shop where with one phone call all needs including housing, food service, meeting facilities, technology support, transportation and recreation services will be coordinated.

John Nussear

Position: Director of Conference Services


John started his career as an Event & Conference Manager at Towson University. He has been with Georgia Tech Conference Services for 12 years, and previously held roles of Conference Coordinator and Conference & eBusiness Manager. John has also been an active member of the Association of Collegiate Conference & Event Directors - International (ACCED-I), holding multiple leadership positions. John has a passion for the event and conference industry and enjoys guiding teams toward success.

Mari Gorda

Position: Operations & Registration Manager


Mari brings a combination of over 15 years' experience in hospitality and university administration to her current position as the Operations & Registration Manager in the Georgia Tech Office of Conference Services. For seven years, she worked primarily with registration and hotel reservations for conventions, attending to the needs of dozens of corporate clients with conferences ranging from 2,000 to 40,000 attendees. At the Medical College of Georgia, she assisted international and post-doctoral students arriving to further their educational pursuits and provided administrative support in an academic/research environment. Through her personal attention and professionalism she strives to provide the highest quality of customer service and ensure the success of each program and event. Mari is a member of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I).

Jennifer B. Watson

Jennifer Watson, Assistant Director, Conference Services
Position: Assistant Director, Conferences


Jennifer brings almost 30 years of experience in Residence Life and Conference Services to her current position. Positions at Texas A&M University (TAMU), Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Eckerd College, and Saint Leo University have provided a breadth of knowledge & experience. Originally from New York State, Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography and Graphic Arts at RIT and later completed a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration at TAMU. On the Georgia Tech campus, she is very active with the Staff Council Health & Well Being committee and the Event Coordinators’ Network. She also serves as an advisor to the Women’s Leadership Conference committee. Jennifer's professional affiliations include ACCED-I, MPI, and ACVB.

Sravanthi Meka

Position: Marketing Manager (Housing)


Sravanthi joined the Georgia Institute of Technology in June 2014 as the Marketing Manager for Housing & Conference Services. She manages the lead process for new clients for Conference Services, and creates marketing and PR for Housing. Prior to Georgia Tech, she managed marketing for healthcare organizations throughout the state of Georgia, and sold print and online advertising campaigns for media publications in northeast Georgia. Sravanthi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and an MBA with a concentration in marketing from the University of Georgia. She is an active member of the Association of Collegiate Conference & Event Directors - International (ACCED-I), and enjoys volunteering, photography, blogging, sports and the outdoors. 

Andrew Wright

Andrew Wright, Conference & eBusiness Manager

Position: Conference & eBusiness Manager

Andrew joined Conference Services team as the Conference and E-Business Manager in December of 2017. Andrew has nine and a half years of experience in Georgia Tech’s Residence Life program. He is excited to be able to use his experience with Georgia Tech’s Residence Halls in a different way to support Conference clients. Andrew has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from North Carolina State University and a Masters in College Student Personnel from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Joe Brown

Position: Application Analyst


Joe Brown is the Application Analyst for Conference Services at Georgia Tech. Joe joined Georgia Tech Conference Services during the summer after his freshmen year. As a student, he helped implement the eBusiness services offered at Georgia Tech. He has improved and expanded those offerings, since joining the team after graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Joe is professionally affiliated with ACCED-I.

Geneen Jackson

Position: Conference Coordinator


Geneen Jackson joined Georgia Tech’s Department of Housing in April 2005 as an Administrative Professional for Residence Life.  In her tenure as an Administrative Professional, she supervised student staff, managed the administrative processes and keys for a community of more than 3,000 students, as well as planned and developed many successful events for professional and student staff of Residence Life. In 2014, Geneen accepted a dual role between Residence Life and Conference Services that allowed her to expand her oversight and share her passion for coordination, customer service, organization, and communication. In her role with Conference Services, she specialized in coordinating groups staying in the North Ave Complex.  In 2018, Geneen fully joined Conference Services as a full-time Conference Coordinator, where she continues to coordinate groups staying in the North Ave Complex, as well as other groups across campus. She is professionally affiliated with ACCED-I.
